JTH 01 - FULL DAY TSAVO EAST SAFARI

Tsavo East National Park is an easily accessible and popular game reserve, attracting large numbers of tourists especially from the coastal resorts. Tsavo is a catchment for visitors from Mombasa resorts. Its scenic features include large herds of elephants and other wildlife and its striking natural landscapes and structures.
Yatta Plateau, about 300 km long in length, is one of the world’s longest lava flows. Lugard Falls on the Galana River. Not a true waterfall but a series of rapids.
Mudanda Rock is a major rock outcrop about 1.6 km long. There is a dam at the base where animals can be seen drinking.
Aruba Dam, built in 1952 across the Voi River, attracts many animals and water birds. The park boasts of about 500 recorded bird species. Other wildlife that can be seen are buffalo, rhino, lion, leopard, crocodile, waterbuck, kudu, gerenuk, zebra, hartebeest, giraffe, impala, monitor lizard, baboon, tortoise and monkey to mention but a few.

ITINERARY:

Depart your coastal hotel at about 0500hrs in the morning depending on the location of your hotel and drive inland to Tsavo East National park (2 hours) entering through Bachuma Gate. Enjoy a long game drive in the park until lunch time. Lunch at Voi Safari Lodge or equivalent. After lunch another short session of game viewing and photography. Drive back to your coast accommodation arriving late afternoon.

JTH 02 - OVERNIGHT SHIMBA HILLS RAINFOREST SAFARI

Shimba Hills National Reserve is the closest game park to the coast (56km from Mombasa). The major physical attraction is a scenic landscape comprising hills and valleys extending beyond the reserve boundaries; coastal rainforest; Sheldrick Falls.
Wildlife: Sable, elephant, buffalo, waterbuck, hyena, reedbuck, warthog, bush pig, giraffe, leopard, baboon, sykes monkey, black faced verve monkey, serval cat, duiker, Masai giraffe and ostrich.

ITINERARY:

Day 1:
Depart your hotel mid afternoon and drive to Shimba Hills National Reserve. Check in at the Shimba Hills Rainforest Lodge. This lodge is a spectacular, award winning, wooden tree lodge.  Dinner is served on the terrace with a view of the waterhole in the middle the tropical forest.

Day 2:
Today you embark on an early morning game drive through the reserve returning to the lodge for breakfast. After breakfast return to your coast hotel.

JTH 04 – 2 DAYS TAITA HILLS AND NGUTUNI GAME SANCTUARIES

TAITA HILLS GAME SANCTUARY
Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary is a privately owned conservation area located at the foot of the Taita Hills adjacent to Tsavo West National Park in Kenya – one of the world's largest game reserves. The Sanctuary provides a safe habitat to over 50 species of mammals and 300 species of birds within 28,000 acres of rolling savannah and woodland.

NGUTUNI GAME SANCTUARY
This 10,000 acre game sanctuary was once home to the infamous 'man eating lions of Tsavo' who preyed on men constructing the railway line between Mombasa and Kampala in the nineteenth century, the sanctuary and surrounding national park are best known today for their fantastic variety of wildlife including lion, cheetah, elephant, buffalo as well as a huge variety of plains game and bird life.

DAY 1
Pick up from your coast hotel at about 0730hrs and drive to Taita Hills Game Sanctuary. Lunch at the Taita Hills Lodge. Afternoon game drive in the Taita Hills game sanctuary. Dinner and overnight at the Saltlick Lodge.

Depart for early morning game drive at 0630hrs in the sanctuary. Return to the lodge for breakfast. After breakfast, drive to the Ngutuni game sanctuary. Game drive and lunch. After lunch, return to your coast hotel.

JTH 07 – 3  DAYS  NIGHTS TSAVO EAST & WEST NATIONAL PARKS

TSAVO WEST NATIONAL PARK
The park is a vast expanse of savannah and contains a diversity of habitats, wildlife, and scenic mountain landscape. It is well known for recent volcanoes, lava flows and caves, Mzima springs, and underwater hippo and fish watching; Ngulia Rhino Sanctuary, Lake Jipe, Mt. Kilimanjaro (on a clear day). Wildlife; Leopard, cheetah, wild dog, buffalo, plains game, crocodile, mongoose, hyrax, klipps springer, crocodile, waterbuck, kudu, gerenuk, zebra, hartebeest and  prolific birdlife featuring 500 recorded species.

ITINERARY:

Day 1:
Depart your coast hotel at around 0800hrs and drive to Tsavo East National Park. Game drive en route to your safari lodge arriving in time for lunch. Afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at the Voi Safari Lodge or equivalent.
Day 2:
After breakfast, drive to the Tsavo West National Park. Visit Mzima Springs. Lunch at the Ngulia Safari Lodge or equivalent. In the afternoon game drive in the park including in the rhino sanctuary. Dinner and overnight at Ngulia Safari Lodge or equivalent.
Day 3.
After breakfast, farewell game drive in the park, join the main Mombasa Nairobi highway and drive park to your coat hotel.

JTH 08 ­–  4  DAYS NIGHTS TSAVO WEST, AMBOSELI & TSAVO EAST NATIONAL PARK

AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK

One cannot mention Amboseli without mentioning Mt. Kilimanjaro for it is lies at the base of the park. The park embodies five main wildlife habitats – open plains, acacia woodland, rocky thorn bush country, swamps and marshland. Within this basin is a temporary lake Amboseli which floods during the rainy season.
Major attractions: - Mt. Kilimanjaro, observation hill which allows an overall view of the whole park. Amboseli has over 80 different species of mammals ranging from the tiny elephant shrew (rarely seen) to the huge bulk of the African elephant. Few visitors will go home without superb elephant pictures with Kilimanjaro as a backdrop. There are over 400 bird species including water fowl like pelicans, Egyptian goose, crested crane and lili trotter. This is also the home of the Masai. Witness first hand contemporary Masai culture and indigenous lifestyle.


ITINERARY:

Day 1
After breakfast, drive to the Tsavo West National Park. Visit Mzima Springs. Lunch at the Ngulia Safari Lodge or equivalent. In the afternoon game drive in the park including the rhino sanctuary circuit. Dinner and overnight at Ngulia Safari Lodge or equivalent.

Day 2:
An early morning departure takes you west, across the spectacular Shetani lava flow, reminder of the molten outpouring that spilled down the scenic slopes of the nearby Chyulu Hills over the last three centuries.  The road climbs through scrub thorn and acacia ‑ look for the unusual ‑ looking long necked gerenuk antelope here ‑ to the grassy ridge at the top.  Before you, lie the shimmering plains that stretch away to Amboseli National Park, at the foot of majestic Mount Kilimanjaro, home to a wealth of wildlife but particularly known for its elephants.  By lunchtime you'll reach Kilima Lodge which allows you dramatic views of Africa's highest mountain.
Day 3.
Early morning game drive in Amboseli returning to the lodge for breakfast. After breakfast drive to Tsavo East National Park. Lunch at Voi Safari Lodge or equivalent. Afternoon game drive, dinner and overnight at Voi Safari Lodge or equivalent.

Day 4.
Early morning game drive in Tsavo East returning to the lodge for breakfast. After breakfast, a leisurely drive back to your coast hotel

JTH 09 – ONE NIGHT MASAI MARA AIR SAFARI

MASAI MARA NATIONAL RESERVE
The reserve is regarded as the most spectacular wildlife viewing areas in Kenya, with over 95 species of mammals, amphibians and reptiles and over 400 bird species. The dominant inhabitant is the wildebeest. In July each year over 1.5 million wildebeest, along with large numbers of zebra and Thomson’s gazelle, migrate from the Serengeti plains in Tanzania to the fresh pastures in the Masai Mara before going back in October. The reserve is surrounded by local community group ranches serving as the dispersal areas. Other wild game to be seen in the Mara are; members of the big five, cheetah, serval cat, hyena, fox, jackals, hippo, crocodile, baboons, warthog, topi, eland, impala, waterbuck, oribi, reed buck, vultures, and giraffe among others.

Day 1
Pick up from your hotel and transfer to Moi airport/Ukunda Airstrip for your domestic flight to Mara.  On arrival at the Mara Airstrip, you will be met by the Lodge staff and be transferred to the lodge by the lodge shared vehicles with game drive enroute. Lunch at a lodge

Day 2
Early morning game drive in the reserve followed by breakfast at the lodge.

After lunch, you will be transferred to the Airstrip using lodge shared vehicles for your domestic flight to Mombasa. On arrival you will met at Moi Airport or Ukunda Airstrip and transferred to your Mombasa hotel.


JTH 10 – 2 NIGHTS MASAI MARA AIR SAFARI

On arrival at the Mara Airstrip, you will be met by the Lodge staff and be transferred to the lodge by the lodge shared vehicles with game drive enroute. Lunch at a lodge

After lunch, you will be transferred to the Airstrip using lodge shared vehicles for your domestic flight to Mombasa. On arrival you will met at Moi Airport or Ukunda Airstrip and transferred to your Mombasa hotel.
